Last pair of cheap 10x42 bino’s constantly gave me headaches. I made a list of everything I wanted in a new pair: 8x magnification instead of 10x for less shakiness and a bigger field of view, eye cups that snapped into place, magnesium chassis and rubber armor coating for durability, 5mm or greater exit pupil size for low light abilities, gas purged lenses for waterproof/fogproof abilities while in the field, and a company that would warranty their products without question or headache. This specific pair checked every one of those boxes. After much more research online, I ended ordering this pair from AAOptics. These Diamondback 8x42’s were exactly what I was wanting. The sheer brightness and resolution stomps anything else I’ve tried up to this point and I can actually see better with these than with my cheapo 24-60 spotting scope I have. My advise to everyone reading this review is don’t let people talking you into more magnification than you need and quality of glass trumps everything else. This specific pair is an excellent choice for general use, birding, tactical applications, and hunting. I highly recommend these and they’ve been worth every penny so far!!!
